Dr. Peter Blodgett

Dr. Peter Blodgett is the third generation of family dentistry practitioners in Decorah. His grandfather, Dr. John Blodgett, began practicing in Decorah in 1926, while his father, Dr. Jim Blodgett, joined the practice in 1959. Dr. Blodgett graduated from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry in 1989 after earning a degree from Luther College in 1985. He came to Decorah in 1989 to join his father, Dr. Hart, and Dr. Wyse at 405 College Drive practice. Dr. Blodgett maintains professional memberships in the American Dental Association, the Iowa Dental Association, the Dubuque Regional Dental Association, the NE Iowa Dental Study Club, the Decorah Area Chamber of Commerce and the Downtown Decorah Betterment Association. Dr. Blodgett and his wife, Linda, have two sons, Evan and Jared. After work, Dr. Blodgett enjoys biking, running, hunting, and pottery.

Dr. John Wilmes

Dr. John Wilmes graduated from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry in 2006 with honors in oral medicine. After practicing for a large group in Oregon for one year, he moved to Decorah and has practiced here since 2007. He is a member of the Academy of General Dentistry, the American Dental Association and the Dubuque District Dental Association. He is an Invisalign preferred provider, and a certified CEREC doctor. Dr. Wilmes is actively pursuing his fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry. Dr. Wilmes also volunteers for the Decorah Free Medical / Dental Clinic. When not seeing patients, Dr. Wilmes likes biking and spending time with his wife, Jamie, and twin pre-schoolers, Norah and Alex.



Dr. Lana McDermott

Dr. Lana McDermott graduated from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry in 2011. Prior she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Luther College in 2007. She took over Dr. Jon Hart’s practice in August 2012. She is a member of the American Dental Association, the Iowa Dental Association, the Dubuque Regional Dental Association, the NE Iowa Dental Study Club, CEREC Doctors, and Donated Dental Services of Iowa. Dr. McDermott is an Invisalign preferred provider, and a certified CEREC doctor. She joined the University of Iowa College of Dentistry as an adjunct faculty member in August 2014. She is working on Project SEALED in NE Iowa, helping the underserved children receive appropriate dental care. When not practicing dentistry, Dr. McDermott enjoys spending time with her husband, Patrick, and her two children, Lottie, 3 1/2 years old, and Mack, 1 year old. They love the outdoors and traveling together.
